            I thank all tech-service for the opportunity to serve our membership. We have faced a lot situations from serving our members. We have addressed many issues with Penn State with great prevail. I also believe our members see they can have a voice in this union. We listen to what you have to say and try to make a difference in the work place. We all know everyone should be treated with respect and not by fear. I also thank all members for doing a great job in their area. It shows when we are out on campus. We have a well-maintained campus because of you.

           With this presidential election approaching fast, it is very important to register to vote. One important thing is to make sure you vote this fall. Our future depends on the right person to be elected.

            We have had four that is right (4) members in the past few months get their job back at Penn State for unjust termination. I know they are grateful for being able to have a way to have their sides of the situation told to an arbitrator. As the arbitrator listen to the members and witnesses he heard the whole story not just Penn States perception of the events. That is why a union is so important, not only for fair representation of our employment also for fair representation of our contract. We thank our members for standing united and strong.

            Teamsters Local Union No. 8 financial records are always open for membership inspection. Just give us a call and we will set up a time for you to look at the records.

Are you going to be off work for some time and are not being paid by the employer? If so, get a withdrawal card to relieve your obligation to pay dues to Teamsters Local Union No. 8. All stewards should have the forms. If not, have them contact the office for a form. It is much easier to get and return the form than to call and ask the union for forgiveness later.
